Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will supervise store employees, present merchandise, handle deposits, and support the Store Manager in achieving profitability and loss prevention goals.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and handle a variety of situations.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to operate cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms and merchandising presentations.
• Assist in cashier accountability, cash control procedures and deposits; sign for refunds/overrides and count tills.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
