Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager’s direction, you will supervise store employees, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and handle deposits to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting assets and reducing losses.

You will assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and enforcing company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns and deposits.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented per standards.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures; deposits to bank.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
