Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store and focus on customer satisfaction. You will assist with employee supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and cash handling while supporting the Store Manager.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety, planograms, and maintaining inventory accuracy. This role requires leadership in a fast-paced retail environment and occasional driving to bank deposits or other stores.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to supervise and train store employees; ensure accuracy in operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cashier functions at point of sale.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, rotating displays and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity: cashier accountability, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
