Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in the United States who will help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus and assist with supervision of store employees, merchandise presentation, and deposits. This role supports profitability and asset protection.

You will perform stocking and cashiering duties, manage scheduling and training, implement planograms, and ensure cash control while acting in the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate register for purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with employee scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through receiving, stocking, markdowns, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and losses.
• Support planograms and store presentation as directed.
• Ensure cash control, refunds, overrides, till counts, and bank deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
