Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Louisiana LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Westwego location. You will assist with daily activities, train associates, and ensure a high standard of service.

You will help manage merchandise flow, organize displays, and implement opening/closing procedures while upholding company policies and safety guidelines. A strong focus on accuracy, communication, and guest satisfaction is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics, etc.) is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe environment for customers and staff
• Keep store clean and presentable, including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
