Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help supervise and train Store Associates.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You’ll contribute to a safe, welcoming shopping experience while handling merchandising, payroll and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
