Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Macon, Missouri to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role involves overseeing daily store activities, merchandising, and ensuring policy compliance, while supporting the Store Manager in training staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and able to interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and deliver exceptional service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and train store associates.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and development of Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
