Job summary

Dollar Tree in Macon, GA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily operations, deliver friendly customer service, and support team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, and keeping a clean, safe store.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, retail supervisory experience preferred, and can lift up to 55 lbs. Strong communication and teamwork are essential. This part-time role offers growth within a national discount retailer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and maintain customer focus

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention
• Maintain areas of the store, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting with customers and staff
• Responsible for cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Other duties as assigned
