Job summary

Dollar Tree in Brandon, FL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise organization, and ensuring a welcoming store environment.

You will supervise associates, uphold policies, and help execute corporate directives while maintaining safety and efficiency. This role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure seasonal areas are maintained.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Ensure overall store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
