Position Overview

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. Your duties will include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting customers positively, resolving inquiries and concerns.
• Maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and providing excellent customer service.
• Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates on operating practices.
• Unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
• Assisting in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supporting loss prevention efforts.
• Taking on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Availability to work flexible, full-time hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills in customer service, developing potential, results orientation, organization, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
