Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager assists in supervising store employees and participates in the day-to-day operations of the store and warehouse. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with policies, safeguarding cashier funds, maintaining store appearance, assisting customers, resolving routine issues, and stepping in for the Store Manager when needed. The role promotes a positive working environment and professional relationships with vendors, donors, customers, beneficiaries, coworkers, and management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective customer service techniques
• Principles and practices of basic mathematics
• Effective communication in English
• Operation of a cash register
• Accurate routine mathematical computations and change counting

Education and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Experience in retail is preferred or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Must meet attendance requirements and work positively with diverse personalities. Physical effort includes sitting, walking, standing, lifting (less than 25 lbs.), bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling, 75-100% of the work time. Work is performed in a typical store environment with minimal weather-related discomforts.
