Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, sales, and team development
  • Ensure store culture embodies Staples values and community commitment
  • Develop a high-performing team focused on providing an exceptional store experience, consultative selling, and total solutions
  • Coach, train, and develop team members to deliver results
  • Achieve sales, service goals, profit margins, and operational execution
  • Establish business cadence for sales readiness
  • Guide merchandising opportunities and assist with operational tasks in partnership with the GM
  • Share responsibility for store operations, cost control, and act as Floor Leader
  • Champion company initiatives and adapt to change
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • 2+ years managing a sales team in retail or services
  • Experience coaching in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
  • Ability to engage with customers and understand their needs
  • Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
  • Ability to analyze results and develop growth plans
  • Conflict management skills
  • Integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
  • Physical ability to lift/move materials (10-50 pounds), climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience using financial metrics to track sales and drive profitability
  • Community networking and engagement skills
