Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership in community, customer service, sales, and team development
- Ensure store culture embodies Staples values and community commitment
- Develop a high-performing team focused on providing an exceptional store experience, consultative selling, and total solutions
- Coach, train, and develop team members to deliver results
- Achieve sales, service goals, profit margins, and operational execution
- Establish business cadence for sales readiness
- Guide merchandising opportunities and assist with operational tasks in partnership with the GM
- Share responsibility for store operations, cost control, and act as Floor Leader
- Champion company initiatives and adapt to change
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years managing a sales team in retail or services
- Experience coaching in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
- Ability to engage with customers and understand their needs
- Strong communication, organization, and adaptability
- Ability to analyze results and develop growth plans
- Conflict management skills
- Integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to work in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment
- Physical ability to lift/move materials (10-50 pounds), climb ladders, stand, and walk continuously
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience using financial metrics to track sales and drive profitability
