Job summary

GUESS Factory Livermore is hiring an Assistant Manager to oversee the customer experience, staff training, and store standards on the sales floor and stockroom. You will lead by example, coaching on product knowledge and selling skills while ensuring excellent service.

You will drive store profitability through sales management, payroll control, and loss prevention, while maintaining visual merchandising and operational policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of sales leadership experience with a proven track record.
• Ability to train and develop a team.
• Strong PC skills and ability to analyze reports.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Job description

The Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing the customer experience, training and development of the store staff, leading by example on the selling floor, and maintaining the store standards on the selling floor and stockroom.

Reports To

Store Manager

Assists management with all sales associates, desk associates, and stock associates

Essential Functions

People Development

• Training Completion: Ensure all associates complete training per company guidelines.
• Leadership by Example: Lead by example by training, developing, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising, and delivering the customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Customer Service: Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by consistently executing and achieving the Customer Experience through regular assessment, coaching, and follow-up with the team.
• Visual Merchandising: Maintain all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.

Drive Sales & Profitability

• Sales Goals: Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the store in sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.

Operational Effectiveness

• Payroll Management: Meet all payroll expectations.
• Loss Prevention: Control company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures.
• Policy Compliance: Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Minimum two years of experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results, and training and developing a team of individuals.
• Proficiency in personal computer use and detailed report analysis.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for a minimum of eight hours during scheduled shifts.
