Position: Assistant Store Manager

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting the Store Manager in daily operations, maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and organized.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on Family Dollar practices and procedures.
• Assist in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring items from stockroom to store.
• Support Store Manager in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts.
• Take on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to interpret operational directives.
• Retail management experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and up to 55 lbs occasionally, and perform tasks requiring walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Flexible, full-time availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
