Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration & Human Resource-related duties. Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma/GED
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience
• Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval

Desired qualifications:

• Retail management experience & knowledge of all aspects of store operations
• Staff supervisory experience

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist store manager & associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience & develop associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance Kroger's reputation
• Lead teams in planning, implementing & executing merchandising/operating initiatives
• Develop action plans/communications based on survey results
• Identify store opportunities, develop solutions & create action plans
• Model and demand high customer service standards & resolve issues
• Manage store operations in the store manager's absence
• Achieve sales, wage, profit targets & safety goals
• Drive sales & profits, reduce shrink, improve departmental contributions
• Discuss financial performance with staff & develop budgets
• Analyze competitive landscape
• Demonstrate inclusive leadership & promote community relationships
• Collaborate with union representatives where applicable
• Communicate effectively with staff
• Serve as liaison on merchandising & operational plans
• Assist in staffing, retention, and performance management
• Ensure legal and policy compliance
• Supervise and coach staff, conduct performance reviews
