Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer‑focused store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise and deposits, and support the Store Manager with daily operations.

Ideal candidates bring supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and a strong record in customer service, inventory control, and cash handling. This role requires reliability for opening/closing, training, and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Retail experience of at least 1 year.
• Six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and train employees; strong customer focus.
• Proficient in cash handling and basic deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, display, and restocking.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; manage damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure proper merchandise presentation.
• Ensure financial integrity via cashier accountability, deposits, and cash-control procedures.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
