Job summary

The University of South Carolina Aiken, an NCAA Division II Institution, is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach. Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II program.

The successful candidate will recruit student-athletes who have the ability to succeed academically and athletically, while promoting, developing, and maintaining positive relationships with the faculty, staff, students, and community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3+ years of experience.
• Preferred Master’s degree and three years of collegiate coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with training, teaching and instruction of a NCAA DII level program, including practice and play schedules.
• Assist in implementing a successful recruiting program to attract outstanding student‑athletes, including off‑campus evaluations and contacts, phone calls, email communications, etc.
• Conduct all aspects of the program within NCAA, Peach Belt Conference, and University policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of eligibility and recruiting requirements for NCAA, PBC and USCA admissions standards.
• Assist with administrative functions including team travel, equipment purchases, and budget monitoring.
• Contribute to community relations, fundraising, and the department’s mission and goals.
