Job summary

Tuskegee University is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Softball Coach in all facets of a Division II program. The role emphasizes organization, development, and leadership within a highly competitive athletic program.

The successful candidate will guide players in rules, techniques, and teamwork, coordinate practices, and help recruit qualified student-athletes while upholding NCAA and conference regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Three or more years of coaching experience at a high school or collegiate level.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport.
• Organize and direct individuals and small group practices and exercises as directed.
• Maintain current knowledge and adhere to all college, NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
• Assist with recruitment of qualified student-athletes
• Demonstrate effective teaching/coaching methods and possess excellent leadership skills
• Assist with games and practice preparations and planning
• Perform other duties as assigned
