Assistant Coach, Softball Part-time (Seasonal)
The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in executing the organization, administration and coaching of the Softball program.
Responsibilities
- Support and assist the head coach to execute a clearly defined philosophy of coaching and teaching Softball.
- Drive college or rental van for away competitions as needed.
- Recruit sufficient qualified student‑athletes.
- Assist head coach with game preparation, home and away competition procedures.
- Track and inventory equipment, uniforms, and report deficiencies.
- Assist with student‑athletes’ academic progress and provide support.
- Support retention initiatives in conjunction with the Director of Student Life and Athletic Program, enforcing academic support plans and supporting the College’s Completion and Student Success Agenda.
- Assist with fundraising activities to meet the team’s financial goals.
- Display a commitment to equality in player development and training.
- Assist in preparing the team for competition.
- Assist in creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging student experience.
- Coordinate collection of team statistics for each game.
- Comply with College, USCAA, NCAA rules and regulations and all other aspects of directing a quality intercollegiate Women's Softball program.
- Act as a mandatory reporter for student issues and concerns and potential TitleIX and College Code of Conduct violations.
- Coach as a professional, mentor, and excellent representative of the values of Bucks County Community College.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in coaching intercollegiate or high school athletics.
- Knowledge and experience coaching Softball.
- Knowledge of NCAA, USCAA, or NJCAA rules and compliance.
- CPR certification; First Aid recommended.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Background Checks and Clearances
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all required background checks and clearances, including a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check and verification of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- This position requires operation of a motor vehicle as part of the job duties.
Salary
Season Salary: $4,000
