Frank Phillips College invites applications for an Assistant Softball Coach position, offering housing and benefits. The successful candidate will support the Head Coach in developing student‑athletes academically, athletically, and personally at FPC.

The role includes assisting with daily operations, practice planning, game preparation, and travel logistics, plus recruiting and evaluating prospective athletes under NJCAA guidelines. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous collegiate coaching and/or playing experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Softball Coach with the daily operations of the softball program.
• Assist with planning and organizing practice plans/training sessions.
• Assist with game preparation, scouting, travel, and game-day operations.
• Recruit, evaluate, and communicate with prospective student-athletes in accordance with NJCAA and institutional policies.
• Provide instruction to help with player development offensively and defensively.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress, attendance, and personal accountability.
• Help coordinate team travel, equipment, inventory, and other program logistics.
• Support strength and conditioning initiatives and promote the overall health and well-being of student-athletes.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes character, discipline and academic success.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach and Athletic Director.
