Job summary

Elizabethton City Schools is seeking an Assistant Soccer Coach to support the Head Soccer Coach in developing student-athletes, planning practices, and promoting athletic excellence within the district.

The role emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, and teamwork, with on-site duties, compliance with TSSAA rules, and coordination with the Athletic Director and staff.

Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma, soccer experience, and willingness to complete required coaching certifications.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of soccer techniques, rules, and training methods.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff and school personnel.
• Must complete required coaching certifications and trainings as required by TSSAA and district.
• Must meet all health requirements and pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct practices that develop fundamental soccer skills and conditioning.
• Instruct student-athletes on rules, strategies, terminology, and proper techniques of soccer.
• Assist with game preparation, including drills, strategy implementation, and in-game coaching support.
• Supervise student-athletes during practice, games, travel, and related activities.
• Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect among student-athletes.
• Ensure compliance with all TSSAA rules, school policies, and district expectations.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment and uniforms.
