The candidate will organize practices, supervise assistants, ensure compliance with TSSAA rules, and maintain records, equipment, and safety protocols to support a successful and positive team environment.

Qualifications

• Leads and oversees the school's track and field program with emphasis on athlete development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Promotes academic achievement and student-athlete growth through structured practice and competition.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall leadership, direction, organization, and supervision of the school's track and field program under the Athletic Director and school administration.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive track and field program that promotes student-athlete development and competitive performance.
• Supervises and coordinates assistant coaches to ensure consistent instruction and program objectives.
• Plans practices, conditioning, individual skill development, and competitive activities for all track and field teams.
• Evaluates student-athletes, monitors performance, and makes decisions on event assignments and participation.
• Coordinates team participation in meets, transportation, and supervision of student-athletes.
• Ensures compliance with Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) regulations and school policies.
• Maintains safety procedures, equipment use, and injury prevention practices.
• Maintains inventory, distribution, and security of equipment and uniforms.
• Maintains accurate eligibility and participation records and communicates schedules and progress to stakeholders.
• Models professional conduct and promotes a positive team culture.
