Job summary

GardaWorld Federal Services is seeking an Assistant Site Supervisor (Construction) to support the Project Manager and Site Supervisor in ensuring smooth operation of the job site. You will coordinate daily activities, communicate with the Site Supervisor, Director of Support, and government/corporate clients, and maintain compliance with all contracts.

You will lead site safety efforts, conduct daily briefings, manage reports, and assist with mobilization, demobilization, and equipment

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years’ experience as a supervisor, assistant project manager, or higher level in dynamic/austere Emergency Response field environments (must be documented).
  • Experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Emergency Response Management.
  • 2-4 years’ experience managing/supervising teams and job sites.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and Government representatives.
  • Experience with forklift and telehandler operation and the ability to be certified on multiple platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize competing requirements.
  • Experience with generators (6kW-500kW) and generator connections.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general construction tools and jobsite safety equipment.
  • Experience loading trailers for transport.
  • Clean driving record: ability to drive/operate various vehicles including full size dually trucks and 26’ box trucks (Non CDL).

Responsibilities

  • Operate with independence and minimal oversight on assigned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, performance work statements, and work instructions.
  • Assist Site Supervisor with site surveys, mobilization/demobilization plans, and deliver when the Site Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensure shipments and asset movements are recorded properly.
  • Assist Quality Control and Safety Managers with inspections and investigations as required.
  • Help conduct weekly safety meetings and assist with accident/injury/illness reporting.
  • Lead daily staff meetings to disseminate project information.
  • Work with Safety Officer to create and implement project safety plans and briefings.
  • Resolve issues by consulting with governmental agents or employees.

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Job Summary: The Assistant Site Supervisor supports the Project Manager and Site Supervisor and has the ultimate responsibility for the overall smooth operation of Job Site in the absence of the Site Supervisor. By having a working familiarity with all job functions and duties of assigned staff, the Assistant Site Supervisor will coordinate the establishment and daily functioning of the Job Site while maintaining communications with the Site Supervisor, Director of Support, and any applicable governmental representatives and/or corporate clients.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • The Assistant Site Supervisor will have the ability to operate independently, with minimal oversight.
  • Ensures compliance with all contracts, performance work statements, working instructions, etc.
  • Assists the Site Supervisor with site surveys, mobilization plans, project plans, demobilization plans, and is prepared to conduct the preceding when the Site Supervisor is not available.
  • Complete all required reports accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all shipments and asset movements are complete, accurate, and recorded properly.
  • Assists the Quality Control Manager and Safety Manager with inspections, investigations, and reports as required.
  • Ensure weekly safety meetings are held. Assists in preparation and completion of accident, injury or illness reports and submission to GardaWorld Federal Services HR/Director of Support.
  • Conduct daily meetings with staff members to ensure project information is disseminated.
  • Work with Safety Officer to ensure a safety plan is created for all projects and assists with daily safety briefings to all staff.
  • Make every effort to resolve issues by consulting with concerned parties, whether governmental agents or employees.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience:

  • 2-4 years’ experience working as a supervisor, assistant project manager, or higher level in dynamic/austere Emergency Response field environments.
  • Experience in Project Management, Construction Management, or Emergency Response Management.

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
