Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is hiring an Assistant Site Director for Before & After School Programming at Wang YMCA in Boston. You will support daily operations, help plan activities, oversee attendance, and reinforce safety and YMCA values.

You will lead age-appropriate activities, coordinate staff, communicate with families, and participate in staff trainings. Qualifications include a high school diploma (college degree preferred), experience with children, CPR/First Aid, and availability

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a passion for working with and nurturing children.
• Experience working with youth programs, camp settings or related field.
• Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and effective communication skills.
• Possesses knowledge of group process and teamwork.
• Must commit to YMCA mission and policies.
• Current First Aid, Oxygen, and CPR certifications or complete YMCA provided training upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Emphasizes personal safety and emotional well-being with students, parents and staff.
• Interprets YMCA values and serves as a positive role model for students.
• Plans and implements recreational and educational programs with group activities and appropriate choices.
• Uses positive discipline and reinforces proper behavior.
• Communicates effectively with staff, parents and children.
• Assists staff with daily tasks to ensure quality programming.
