Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is looking for an Assistant Site Director for the North Reading location in the Before/After School program. This full-time role supports daily operations, leading activities and ensuring safe, quality programming for children.

You will supervise staff, coordinate attendance, and help implement activities, events, and family nights, while upholding YMCA core values and policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and have a passion for working with and nurturing children.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Experience working with children (youth programs, camp settings or related field).
• Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and utilize effective communication skills.
• Possesses knowledge of group process – collaborative style of working within a team.
• Must be committed to YMCA mission, philosophy, and departmental goals.
• Must possess current First Aid, Oxygen, and CPR certifications and as required by the program; or complete YMCA training upon hire.
• 7D license recommended to assist with transportation but not required.
• Must be available up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 6-8 hour shift, 10am-6pm.

• Plans and implements recreational and educational programs with group activities.
• Uses positive discipline and ensures staff follow suit.
• Communicates respectfully with staff, parents and children.
• Assists staff during daily tasks to support quality programming.
• Manages daily attendance records and rosters.
• Supports behavior guidance and group management with students.
• Sets an example for group game facilitation and program quality.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings and applies materials day-to-day.
• Maintains cleanliness and care of program areas and supplies.
• Abides by YMCA/school policies and guidelines.
