Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You’ll support the Shop Manager with daily operations, coaching, and a safe, efficient customer experience. You may step in as Manager on Duty and participate in a comprehensive Certified Technician training program.

Automotive experience is valued but not required. Competitive hourly pay plus weekly bonus opportunities, plus full benefits and growth paths are offered for full-time teammates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Strong communication skills and comfort providing direction, coaching, and feedback to team members.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Train new team members and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Perform Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities as needed.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
