Base pay range

$27.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Role Overview

As the Assistant Service Manager, you are expected to lead by example for the service team of this community with 168 apartment homes. Help set the standard by demonstrating superior technical skills and leadership. You are the right-hand person for the Service Manager.

Competitive hourly rate + $750 per month rent discount for live-on + bonus + health/dental/vision/401K + paid training + resources and support.

We own and operate all of our assets and invest in the long-term. We have 5 communities in the Charlotte area and 10 in NC overall.

Most Important Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate keen leadership qualities and take initiative to help guide the team as they make timely high-quality repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and the entire team to communicate the mechanical/technical aspects of the community and make good decisions.
  • Share your knowledge with the team, while continuing to develop your own future management potential.
  • Help manage the day-to-day maintenance activities for this community.
  • Oversee quality of final work product, while performing tasks yourself, i.e., turns and tickets.
Most Important Qualifications
  • MUST BE A GO-GETTER with a proven track record of stepping up to the plate and taking initiative.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience in apartment maintenance, preferably at a demanding community with high standards.
  • EPA certification required and CPO preferred.
  • Solid track record of HVAC skills, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, electrical, appliance repair, etc.
  • Willingness to participate in the emergency on-call rotation every fourth week (shared with a sister community).
  • Vehicle, driver’s license, appropriate tools.
  • Ability to assess and address problems quickly, good organization skills, and strong follow-up.
