Job summary

Sun Tan City in New Bern, NC seeks an Assistant Salon Director to lead a high-energy team and drive client-centric service while maintaining operational excellence. The role focuses on supervising Tanning Consultants, achieving store goals, and delivering an exceptional client experience.

You will manage daily operations, coach staff, and ensure a clean, professional salon environment with strong sales focus. Weekend and evening coverage may be required as part of a 40–45 hour week.

Qualifications

• College education preferred, but not required.
• Management and/or Sales experience required.
• Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor while having knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily operations of the salon in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead by example in creating a client-centric experience and meeting personal sales expectations.
• Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
• Establishes clear goals and objectives for Team Members.
• Provides coaching, training, and feedback to improve Team Members’ daily performance.
• Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist with other Salon Director functions.
• Assist the Salon Director in controlling top line revenue and expenses.
• Help to maintain proper staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and excellent customer service while also controlling labor costs.
• Ability to work nights as well as Saturdays and Sundays as required to provide management coverage.
• Candidate should expect to work five days per week, and approximately a 40-to-45-hour work schedule depending on hourly or salary status.
