Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of construction safety standards, effective communication skills, and a drive to promote a safety culture across all departments. The Assistant Safety Manager will work closely with project teams on-site to identify hazards, deliver training, conduct safety audits, complete safety documentation, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices; ability to research regulations.
• Experience in construction safety, risk management or related fields preferred.
• Ability to read plans and specifications; strong communication, report-writing, and presentation skills.
• Basic MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Availability to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends; flexible schedule.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Professional interaction with team members, subcontractors, and the GC.
• Effective communication in English; Spanish skills a plus.
• Ability to work in heights, confined spaces, dusty areas, and temperature extremes.
• Willingness to learn new tasks.
• Punctuality and reliability.

Preferred Safety Certifications

• CHST certification
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (will provide if not current)
• CPR/First Aid certification (will provide if not current)
