Opportunity: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Assist in the effective management and direction of restaurant operations in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform according to brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
  2. Ensure food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications.
  3. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on service and food quality in the outlet.
  4. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards for guests and staff.
  5. Resolve guest complaints and coordinate with other departments to address service or quality issues.
  6. Check that all equipment is operational.
  7. Follow up on work orders to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
  8. Document inventory, forecast usage, and monitor supplies.
  9. Adhere to all regulations related to serving alcoholic beverages, including liquor controls and cash handling policies, ensuring SOX compliance.
  10. Participate in marketing efforts, create menu ideas, survey competitors, report food trends, and assist with specials.
  11. Follow sustainability practices aligned with HHM’s EarthView program.
  12. Practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of restaurant experience required.

Work Environment and Context

  • Work schedule varies, including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other physical activities.
