Job Description

The Office of the University Registrar is looking for an individualto join our team as an Assistant Registrar for Transfer Credit. Youwill play a critical role in facilitating and maintaining allaspects of transfer credit evaluation, articulation, andcoordination of academic policies related to transfer coursework.You Will also play a pivotal role in ensuring Virginia Techcontinues to develop a holistic and robust transfer creditecosystem while dynamically supporting students, advisors, andfaculty alike.

Important Points

1. 1) You will be joining the Office of the University Registrar: adepartment dedicated to assisting students in navigating theiracademic journey at Virginia Tech from admission to beyondgraduation.
2. 2) You will report directly to the Associate Registrar for StudentServices. This position is a regular, AP Faculty calendar-yearappointment.
3. 3) Your primary responsibilities include unit supervision,overseeing the evaluation of transfer credit, ensuring compliancewith university policies and accreditation standards, andcollaborating with academic departments to facilitate the seamlessintegration of transfer coursework into students' academic records.This role also involves maintaining articulation tables, managingrelated systems, and providing exceptional customer service supportto students, faculty, and staff regarding transfer creditprocesses.
4. 4) You will have the chance to expand your knowledge of theuniversity and pursue career advancement within the Office of theUniversity Registrar.
5. 5) The salary of this position is commensurate with experience upto an expected budget max range of $65,000 - $70,000, accompaniedby a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance,paid leave, and retirement options.

Required Qualifications

• -Bachelor’s degree with significant applicable workexperience
• -Demonstrated experience within a large-scale, complexorganization, preferably in higher education
• -Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicateeffectively and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• -Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, andhandle multiple responsibilities concurrently
• -Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data management andrecord-keeping
• -Knowledge of transfer credit evaluation, course equivalencies, andacademic policy interpretation

Preferred Qualifications

• -Supervisory experience
• -Experience working in a Registrar's office or similar highereducation administrative setting
• -Familiarity with interpreting and communicating institutional,state, and/or federal policies and procedures related to transfercredit
• -Extensive knowledge of transfer evaluation processes, studentrecord-keeping, and best practices in credit articulation
• -Proficiency in using Ellucian’s Banner, Transfer Evaluation System(TES), Transferology, Banner Document Management, and/or othercomparable industry software
• -Understanding of uAchieve, DegreeWorks, or other degree auditsystem and their utilization
• -Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and aptitude for working withlarge data sets
• -Experience working with college students and knowledge of transferstudent development as well as progress towards degree
• -Familiarity with Virginia Tech organization structure andpolicies
