Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Radiation Protection Technology, or related science with 3 years in radiation safety.
• Experience with relational databases and spreadsheets for statistical analysis of radiation safety program data.
• Skilled in technical report generation and procedure development; able to deliver technical training.

Responsibilities

• Direct technicians who conduct monthly surveys and investigations of radioactive material use laboratories to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Calibrate radiation detection instruments per federal/state requirements.
• Maintain databases and spreadsheets to capture and analyze results; produce reports for Radiation Safety Officer and committee.
• Train technicians on technical aspects of radiation safety and develop annual safety training for researchers.
