Qualifikationen

• Must meet requirements for Radiation Safety Officer under F.A.C. 64E-5.648 at time of hire.
• Valid State of Florida or Georgia Driver’s License or ability to obtain upon hire.

Aufgaben

• Evaluates PI proposals for use of radioactive materials and oversees lab setup, inspection, and closeout surveillance.
• Inspects analytical, medical, and veterinary x-ray machines and linear accelerator facilities for regulatory compliance.
• Determines exposure potential and implements control measures to keep personnel doses low; oversees radioactive waste, transport, and disposal.
• Prepares and teaches Radiation Safety Course; trains laboratory users and new employees in safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
• Manages radioactive material inventories and assists with non-ionizing safety programs; performs inventory and dose record data management.
