Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the Property Manager in day-to-day operations and ensure a high level of service for residents, including those with special needs. The role involves coordinating with on-site staff, vendors, and enforcing applicable policies and programs.

You will contribute to occupancy maintenance, lease administration, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Tax Credit requirements.

Qualifications

• English reading/writing and fluent communication required.
• 1–2 years property management experience, preferably with Tax Credit properties.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation; travel for training.
• Knowledge of Tax Credit Section 42 and related tenant rules.

Responsibilities

• Interviews and screens prospective residents for occupancy.
• Prepares, processes and signs leases and rules.
• Purchases general supplies and services following P.O. procedures.
• Assists with inspections and monitoring work orders.
• Rent collection and deposits using property management software.
• Writes warning letters and prepares legal notices to residents.
• Submits reports and maintains records per JSCo policies.
• Performs related work and other duties as required.
