Job summary

DHA Housing Solutions for North Texas in Dallas seeks an Assistant Property Manager to help deliver affordable housing. You will monitor budgets, manage contracting and spending, supervise maintenance staff and the resident services coordinator, and prepare for HUD inspections.

You will lease vacant units, lead lease signings, address resident inquiries, coordinate with police or security on incidents, and ensure safety, cleanliness and compliance across the property.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business, Real Estate, Property Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • One year of property management experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification in Rent Calculation/Public Housing Occupancy
  • Valid Texas State Driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Serve as acting supervisor of at least one property with fewer than 200 units.
  • Implements preventive maintenance program for systems and structures at the property.
  • Leases vacant units with high quality maintenance work and occupancy compliance.
  • Prepares annual operating budgets, monitors monthly spending, and tracks rent and additional charges collected at each property in the region.
  • Coordinate with service providers to support residents with severe social service needs.
  • Lead orientation briefings at lease signing and manage resident move-in, move-out, transfer, and eviction procedures.
  • Respond to resident inquiries, resolve tenant complaints in accordance with DHA policy, enforce lease requirements, and attend monthly resident meetings.
  • Register and monitor resident vehicles on property; coordinate with police or security on incidents
