Shelter Corporation is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support Nicollet Square, an affordable housing community serving LIHTC and HUD Project-Based Section 8 residents in Minneapolis.

This role assists the Property Manager with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, and compliance while coordinating with maintenance and finance to ensure smooth daily operations and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of affordable housing/property management experience preferred.
• 1 year HUD Project-Based Section 8 compliance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HUD/LIHTC program requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Property Manager with daily community operations and office coverage.
• Assist leasing activities: follow-up, applications, leases, move-ins, move-outs.
• Support occupancy goals by providing responsive service to prospective residents.
• Process rent payments, maintain resident ledgers, assist with delinquencies and collections.
• Assist with compliance documentation and file maintenance for LIHTC/HUD programs.
• Coordinate with maintenance for work orders and unit turns.
