Job summary

Ella SA Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning and execution of underground utility construction projects, coordinating with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence. The role involves project planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and regulatory compliance.

Proficiency in MS Office and field coordination experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills for both office and field coordination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Willingness to work in both office and outdoor job site environments.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning by breaking down plans into actionable tasks and coordinating with field teams.
• Track field costs, update spreadsheets, manage PO logs, and assist with invoice reconciliation.
• Support 3-week look-ahead planning and review daily crew activities with supervisors.
• Coordinate equipment needs, crew logistics, and material orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate daily field needs with Foreman and Superintendent and plan ahead for site deliveries.
• Create and maintain 811 dig tickets, track permit expirations, renewals, inspections, and utility locates.
• Track inspections, maintain as-builts, log test results, and ensure documentation is complete.
• Promote daily safety practices and communicate hazards to leadership.
• Track field issues, assist RFIs, maintain logs, and escalate concerns.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractor schedules, site access, and daily activities.
• Maintain as-built drawings, submittals, daily reports, and project records.
• Reconcile material orders against executed POs and on-site inventory and deliveries.
• Track daily production and update progress reports for stakeholders.
• Schedule meetings, prepare minutes, and manage communications flow.
