Job summary

Tiello LLC has partnered with a well-established structural steel fabricator/erector in the Richmond, VA area to hire an Assistant Project Manager. You will support the successful execution of structural steel projects from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating shop fabrication and field erection activities with engineers, detailers, and site teams.

The role involves collaboration with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and field personnel to ensure on-time delivery, budget

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years construction experience in structural steel fabrication/erection.
• Understanding of shop drawings, steel detailing, and erection processes.
• Familiarity with TEKLA EPM software.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing structural steel projects from fabrication to erection.
• Coordinate with detailers on shop drawings, RFIs, and revisions.
• Track material procurement, lead times, and production schedules.
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and change orders.
• Communicate with general contractors and subcontractors to maintain flow.
• Oversee erection sequencing, logistics, and field coordination.
• Monitor schedules and identify risks or delays.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and contract compliance.
• Maintain project documentation (submittals, RFIs, change orders).
