Job summary

Baron Sign Manufacturing, a Jupiter-based design-build sign contractor, seeks an Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator to move jobs from award to close-out.

You’ll own permits, sign schedules, installations, and tight project coordination with PMs, estimators, production, and field crews to keep every job on schedule and within spec. You’ll gain a broad view of projects from drawings to punch lists, a fast path to growth.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in signage, construction, or related field.
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with customers, municipalities, and crews.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; quick with new software.
• Nice to have: Florida signage permitting, ADA packages, Smartsheet/Illustrator/AutoCAD.
• Willingness to learn signage processes.

Job description

If you're a year or two into construction or signage and you're already the person who tracks down the permit status, chases the submittal, and knows which job is about to slip — you're doing coordination work. This is that job, with a title and a path attached.

Baron Sign is a design-build sign contractor in Jupiter. Design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance all happen under one roof, and have since 1983. We build interior and ADA packages, wayfinding systems, monument signs, and channel letters for multifamily and mixed-use developments, airports, hospitals, hotels, and municipalities across Florida.

We're hiring an Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator to support our Project Managers and keep jobs moving from award through close-out. On a team of just over 20, you'll see the whole job — the drawing, the permit, the shop, the install, the punch list — instead of one slice of it. That's the fastest way we know to build a project manager, and it's the intent here.

What you'll own

• Permits, start to finish. Prepare and submit applications to Florida municipalities and counties, act as the point of contact on status and comments, coordinate inspections, and close permits out.
• Interior sign schedules and submittals. Build and maintain sign and message schedules against contract documents, verify sign types and ADA requirements, and track submittals so the shop is always building to the current version.
• Installation. Schedule crews and subs, confirm site readiness, field-verify conditions on site, and walk punch lists to completion.
• Project support. Track schedules, lead times, and vendor commitments. Coordinate between the PM, estimating, production, and install. Communicate with customers, GCs, and architects — and flag problems early, with a solution attached.

What we're looking for

• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings, or the aptitude to pick it up fast
• Sharp organizational skills and real attention to detail
• Strong communication with customers, municipalities, and field crews
• Proficient in Excel and Word, and quick with new software
• Nice to have: Florida sign permitting experience, ADA and interior sign package familiarity, Smartsheet, Illustrator, or AutoCAD.
• You won't have all of this on day one. If you've got the organization and the willingness to chase an answer until you have it, we'll teach you the signage.
