Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Greater Chicago is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support plumbing projects and work closely with the Project Manager on daily needs. You will help build schedules, review plans, and coordinate with field teams to keep timelines on track.

This hands-on role involves assisting with estimating and bidding, tracking costs, monitoring budgets, and supporting close-out tasks while upholding safety and plumbing codes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years experience in plumbing projects preferred
• Exposure to plumbing project management or estimating is a bonus
• Interest in growing your career with hands-on training and support

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project needs
• Help build schedules, resource plans, and timelines
• Review plans, specs, RFIs, and blueprints
• Coordinate with PMs, foremen, and field teams to keep everyone aligned
• Assist with estimation and bidding, including tracking costs and preparing reports
• Monitor budgets with guidance from the PM
• Support close-out tasks like punch lists, as-built drawings, and turnover documents
• Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety rules, and industry standards
• Help ensure safety logs, meetings, and protocols are followed on site
