Job summary

Mullins Mechanical seeks an Assistant Project Manager to oversee industrial mechanical projects across millwright/rigging, process piping, and structural steel. The role requires site-based work and attention to safety, schedule, and quality.

You will support documentation, budgeting, scheduling, subcontracts, and coordination with PMs, superintendents, and field crews. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent PM experience.
• PMP/CCM certification is a plus.
• OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR training is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
• Strong leadership and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to budget, schedule, and control costs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with MS Office proficiency and PM software familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, managing, and storing all project documentation.
• Participate in hand-off meetings to gather critical information before construction.
• Assist PM in preparing the construction budget.
• Assist in developing and managing the construction schedule.
• Develop subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Manage subcontractors and their performance.
• Organize and distribute submittals and RFIs.
• Collaborate with PM and accounting to resolve cost discrepancies.
• Help price and formalize changes in project scope.
• Coordinate with Superintendents for resources and equipment.
• Oversee safety, quality, and productivity on site.
• Ensure the jobsite remains clean and orderly.
