Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support mechanical and civil construction projects across the Southeast U.S. The role blends coordination, technical support, and field exposure with travel to project sites.

You will work with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and quality. The ideal candidate has 3–8 years in construction or PM support, a related degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in construction, engineering, or project management support roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and contract docs.
• Experience with submittals, RFIs, procurement, and change management processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors, including bid solicitation, leveling, and buyout support.
• Develop, review, and manage submittals in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Initiate, track, and manage RFIs; coordinate design clarifications with engineers, clients, and vendors.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support field operations and resolve technical issues.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and preparation of material purchase requisitions.
• Support development and maintenance of project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and progress reporting.
• Track project costs, quantities, labor productivity, and assist in variance analysis.
• Identify scope gaps, changed conditions, and potential risks; support change order development, pricing, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, daily reports, and logs.
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure alignment between project plans and field execution.
• Perform jobsite visits to monitor progress, verify work in place, support quality control, and assist in issue resolution.
• Support coordination and performance of subcontractors across multiple trades.
• Assist in development of construction planning, logistics, and execution strategies.
• Track and expedite material deliveries to support field operations.
• Participate in project meetings with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Promote and support a strong safety culture in coordination with field leadership and HSE teams.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and safety regulations.
• Contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize cost, constructability, and schedule.
• Support project closeout including punch list management, turnover documentation, and final deliverables.
• Travel as required for meetings, pre-bid walks, and site visits.
