Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead delivery of large-scale HVAC and plumbing projects. Based in Reston, VA, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget performance.

The role requires 5+ years of PM experience in commercial construction, strong MEP knowledge, and proficiency with Procore, MS Project, and BPM tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of PM experience in commercial construction or MEP contracting
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and MEP systems
• Experience managing projects from $2M to $50M+
• Proven ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools
• Bachelor's degree in CM, Engineering, or related field preferred
• Willingness to travel to project sites (30–40% of role)

Requirements for this role include:

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction, MEP contracting, or with a General Contractor.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and MEP systems.
• Experience managing projects ranging from $2M to $50M+ preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.

This position is based at our HQ in Reston, VA. This role will also require travel to work sites in the DMV area, which can be up to 30-40% of the role.
