Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Minnesota to support project managers in safety, planning and budgeting. You will help with cost monitoring, reporting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination while ensuring timely billing and strong client relationships.

Travel to projects regularly, contribute to proposals, and assist with monthly financial reporting and forecasts to drive project success and profitability.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in utility construction environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of systems for accounting, cost reporting, billing and budgeting.
• Track key performance and financial metrics to optimize performance and reduce costs.
• Prepare proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs.
• Set up job structure with safety, scheduling, cost codes and billing details.
• Support handoff from estimating to on-site supervision.
• Coordinate with purchasing on material orders and submittals.
• Travel to projects regularly and provide weekly progress updates.
• Assist with change orders, monthly bridge, forecasts and reports.
