Assistant Project Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in various responsibilities including initial project planning, developing budgets, contract coordination, budget control, change order/purchase order management, scheduling, and project closeout.

Essential Functions
  1. Assist the Project Manager in managing all assigned construction-related projects.
  2. Help prepare budgets, conduct cost analysis, develop project plans, scopes of work, and schedules; source, negotiate, and supervise contractor relationships; prepare bids and manage the bid process; execute project plans.
  3. Update and monitor project schedules.
  4. Assist in preparing cost reports.
  5. Track and update change orders and purchase orders.
  6. Facilitate processing of RFIs and submittals.
  7. Procure shop drawings, samples, and other submittals.
  8. Provide spreadsheets for cost analysis.
  9. Update Project Manager on the status and completion of all activities.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or Finance is required.
  • At least 2-5 years of related experience in construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and scheduling programs.
  • Ability to read architectural and engineering plans.
  • Must be persistent, accurate, organized, detail-oriented, flexible, people-oriented, able to meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.
