Job summary

Belmont Search is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a Greater Boston general contractor on commercial and multifamily projects. You will support a single project through buyout, procurement and cost control, reporting to a project manager and advancing along a defined path to Project Manager.

Responsibilities include managing submittals, RFIs, procurement log, cost coding, change orders, and long‑lead material tracking, with owner/architect correspondence and meeting minutes.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years on commercial, multifamily or institutional construction.
• Construction management, engineering or architecture degree, or equivalent field experience.
• Submittal and RFIs management on a live project.
• Procore or Autodesk Construction Cloud experience; NE/NH experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Submittals, RFIs, and procurement log management.
• Subcontract and purchase order buyout with the project manager.
• Cost coding, change order logs, and support on monthly requisitions.
• Track long lead materials and dependent schedule dates.
• Maintain owner/architect correspondence and meeting minutes.
• Prepare closeout docs, as-builts, and warranty submissions.
• Provide weekly field time with the project superintendent.

THE OPPORTUNITY

An Assistant Project Manager position with a Greater Boston general contractor, on commercial and multifamily building work. The position reports to a project manager, sits with one project team, and carries a defined route to Project Manager.

THE ROLE

Support of a single project through buyout, procurement and cost control. The submittal log, the requests for information and the procurement schedule are yours, and the project manager holds the contract and the owner relationship.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Submittals, requests for information and the procurement log
• Subcontract and purchase order buyout alongside the project manager
• Cost coding, change order logs and support on the monthly requisition
• Long lead material tracking and the schedule dates that depend on it
• Owner and architect correspondence, and project meeting minutes
• Closeout documentation, as-builts and warranty submissions
• Weekly field time with the project superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS

• One to four years on commercial, multifamily or institutional construction
• A construction management, engineering or architecture degree, or equivalent experience in the field or the trades
• Submittal and request for information management on a live project
• Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud or a comparable project management platform
• Massachusetts or New England project experience is an advantage

COMPENSATION

Base of $75,000 to $100,000, plus bonus.
