Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to support execution from preconstruction through closeout on large-scale commercial construction in the Carolinas. This role offers exposure to marquee projects and a fast-paced, collaborative environment with early responsibility. Work closely with field teams, clients, and design professionals to drive project milestones.

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of construction experience in a Project Engineer, Assistant PM, or similar role
  • Commercial construction experience preferred
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
  • Motivated by career growth and increased responsibility
  • Stable work history and strong professional presence

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with project execution from preconstruction through closeout
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Assist with schedule updates and project reporting
  • Attend project meetings and maintain meeting documentation
  • Support procurement and material tracking activities
  • Partner with field teams to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and project stakeholders
