Job summary

MPI is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Construction - Manhattan to support project delivery on iconic Manhattan projects. You will assist with all phases of project delivery, coordinate with contractors, manage procurement, and help maintain schedules and documentation.

The role requires 2–5 years of construction experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam and project controls.

Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager - Construction - Manhattan, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting Project Managers with all phases of project delivery
  • Supporting budget tracking, forecasting, and cost management
  • Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration
  • Maintaining project schedules and progress reports
  • Participating in project meetings and preparing meeting minutes
  • Monitoring construction progress and identifying potential issues
  • Supporting quality control and safety initiatives
  • Preparing reports, logs, and project correspondence
  • Assisting with project closeout and turnover activities
  • Building strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager - Construction - Manhattan should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of construction experience, preferably in project coordination or assistant project management
  • Experience working on commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, or institutional projects
  • Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project controls
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Desire to grow into a full Project Manager role
