Job summary

Just Construction Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and execution of commercial and institutional construction projects in the Asheville area. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 1–4 years of experience in commercial or institutional construction, including internships or project engineering experience.
• Experience with commercial, institutional, multi-family, municipal, or complex projects preferred.
• Understanding of construction documents, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers in day-to-day management of construction projects from startup through closeout.
• Support project budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and process owner pay applications, subcontractor invoices, and purchase orders.
• Assist with subcontract procurement, contract administration, and change order management.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with field leadership to monitor project schedules and progress.
• Help identify project risks and assist in implementing solutions to maintain schedule and budget.
• Participate in owner, architect, subcontractor, and internal project meetings.
• Assist with project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, closeout documents, and final turnover.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure timely communication among project stakeholders.
