Job summary

AHU technology in Asheville, NC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion. You will help with schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and quality control to ensure safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.

Candidates should have a 2+ year background in commercial construction and a related degree; healthcare, K-12, or higher-education projects are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience in healthcare, K-12, or higher education projects preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Knowledge of CMAR project delivery is a plus.
• Self-motivated with leadership potential and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with all phases of commercial construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedules.
• Help prepare, update, and monitor project schedules and budgets.
• Track project progress and resolve scheduling or operational issues.
• Participate in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Prepare project reports, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and correspondence.
• Support quality control, safety compliance, and project closeout activities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assistant Project Manager supports the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial
